TL;DR
Staff Software Engineer (TypeScript) (AI): Designing and evolving cloud-native SaaS services and platforms with an accent on TypeScript, AWS, platform engineering, and applied AI. Focus on guiding architecture across teams, building agentic and retrieval-augmented solutions, and improving observability, security, privacy, resilience, and cost efficiency.
Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid work with onsite attendance at least 50% of the time for candidates within commuting distance of a office.

What you will do
- Design and evolve robust cloud-native services and platforms from ideation and prototyping through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Guide architecture, identify technical pain points, and improve engineering standards across multiple teams.
- Partner with Product, Security, DevOps, and engineering leaders to align technical roadmaps with business priorities.
- Own ambiguous, high-complexity technical problems and help teams make sound architectural trade-offs.
- Establish practices for AI governance, observability, privacy, security, and operational controls.
- Mentor engineers, support hiring and onboarding, evaluate emerging technologies, and reduce system complexity.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software development experience.
- Strong software design and coding fundamentals, primarily in TypeScript; Python experience is relevant.
- Significant AWS experience and ownership across the software lifecycle.
- Experience with cloud-native platform engineering, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability, and security best practices.
- Applied AI and agentic solutions experience, including model capabilities and trade-offs, tool orchestration, retrieval-augmented patterns, responsible AI, and cost-aware design.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
