Senior Robotics Software Engineer I

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance C++ software for controlling and coordinating large-scale robotic arms.
• Develop motion planning and trajectory generation algorithms for safe operation in complex workspaces.
• Implement real-time sensor fusion and state estimation using sensors such as IMUs and LiDAR.
• Program robotic arm motions and integrate them with other systems.
• Maintain simulated environments and automated test frameworks for continuous integration and system verification.
• Lead hardware-software integration and validation while contributing to controls and electrical system architecture decisions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional robotics software development experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in modern C++17 or newer and Python in a professional robotics environment.
• Strong understanding of robotic arm kinematics, multi-body dynamics, motion planning, autonomy algorithms, and robotics frameworks such as ROS.
• Hands-on experience with robotic platforms, sensors, actuators, localization, perception, control systems, sensor fusion, and state estimation algorithms such as Kalman filters.
• Ability to work onsite at the Austin, Texas headquarters.

Nice to have

• Experience programming industrial robots in high-level languages.
• Knowledge of formal control theory, linear algebra, redundant kinematic chains, and dynamic system stabilization.
• Experience delivering products to end users and production environments.
• Familiarity with hardware design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build effective professional relationships.
