Senior Robotics Engineer: Software (Robotics)

Location: On-site in Carson, California, at the hirify.global office; travel to client locations as needed.

Salary: $134,000–$175,000 per year, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Develop algorithms, systems, and architecture for high-degree-of-freedom robotic systems in manufacturing environments.
• Build computer vision and perception algorithms for 3D geometry reconstruction, segmentation, and inspection using multimodal sensing.
• Develop fast, robust motion-planning algorithms for robots operating around obstacles, using kinematics and dynamics.
• Create production-ready, high-performance software with GPU programming and hardware acceleration.
• Configure and troubleshoot low-latency interfaces for high-bandwidth sensor data and resolve complex software issues through systematic debugging.
• Support application teams with POCs, FATs, deployments, and on-site system-level debugging at customer locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a similar engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of industry experience developing, implementing, and testing algorithms for planning, learning, perception, or control.
• Production-level proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Experience developing software that interacts with sensor inputs, control loops, and redundancy.
• Proficiency with ROS2 and relevant open-source robotics libraries.
• Must maintain ongoing U.S. work authorization and meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements throughout employment.

Nice to have

• MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a similar engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of experience developing planning, learning, perception, or control algorithms.
• Experience with GPU programming, hardware acceleration, test-driven development, and rigorous documentation.
• Experience delivering complete software products meeting functional and safety-critical requirements.
