Senior Robotics Manipulation Engineer (AI)

Location: Redwood City, United States; on-site

Salary: $170,000–$225,000 annually, plus potential equity, benefits, and other incentives.

What you will do

• Train models for robotic manipulation, force control, and servoing.
• Convert heuristic-based controls into learned models and develop suitable state-space representations.
• Apply reinforcement learning, motion planning, controls, simulation, and sensor fusion to robotics systems.
• Work with roboticists, machine learning engineers, mechanical engineers, product managers, data platform specialists, simulation teams, and robot operations teams.
• Implement, test, and maintain high-quality, maintainable, and performant software.
• Lead efforts to improve model rigor and performance.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant industry or research experience.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Knowledge of modern C++ and Linux.
• Experience with multiple areas including imitation learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning, distributed ML training platforms, task and motion planning, and simulation.
• Ability to work on-site in Redwood City, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Git and modern CI pipelines.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Previous startup experience.
