TL;DR
Intern- Equipment Engineering Technician (Wet Process) (Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance): Learning to maintain, diagnose, repair, and improve wet-process semiconductor equipment in a cleanroom environment with an accent on electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and robotic systems. Focus on analyzing equipment performance, identifying root causes, applying maintenance specifications, and presenting technical issues and solutions.

Location: Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon, United States; onsite cleanroom work with two 12-hour shifts during the school year

Employment type: Part time, minimum 24 hours per week. The schedule accommodates required AAS program classes.

What you will do

  • Learn semiconductor equipment maintenance under the supervision of experienced technicians and engineers.
  • Read schematics and use hand tools and test equipment to calibrate, diagnose, and repair equipment.
  • Disassemble, adjust, and repair equipment according to maintenance specifications and OEM manuals.
  • Monitor equipment performance, diagnose root causes, and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Work with electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and robotic systems while managing radiation, electrical, liquid, and gas hazards safely.
  • Present equipment issues and solutions to the group and communicate findings in writing.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in Microelectronics, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering Technology, or another approved AAS program.
  • Ability to work two 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced cleanroom environment during the school year.
  • Ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical applications and demonstrate creative problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organization, documentation, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry approximately 50 pounds and perform climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and crawling activities.

Nice to have

  • Ability to work full-time 12-hour Compressed Work Week shifts during the summer.
  • Familiarity with Unix and Linux.
