Metrology Technician I

Location: Rockrimmon, Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States; on-site manufacturing environment

Salary: $20–$23 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Perform dimensional metrology for rework, investigations, and engineering measurements using calipers, micrometers, CMM, and CT equipment.
• Support molding and production teams with manual and inline vision inspection, investigation, and basic troubleshooting of Keyence vision systems.
• Operate VOC and contamination monitoring systems, complete routine checks, trend results, and support investigations.
• Prepare analytical laboratory samples and perform ISO 5 environmental measurements such as LPC and APC.
• Qualify equipment, support process documentation, maintain calibration and usage records, and create or validate Certificates of Analysis.
• Contribute to DRB/MRB activities, including disposition, containment, corrective-action follow-up, process audits, and inspection training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 1–2 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, metrology, laboratory work, or contamination monitoring; or an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• Ability to learn and apply measurement and inspection methods, including gage use, vision inspection, and CMM fundamentals.
• Ability to learn equipment qualification, calibration systems, and quality documentation; ISO experience is preferred.
• Computer proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn manufacturing and quality systems such as MES, SPC, SCADA, and LIMS.
• Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
• Ability to prioritize, troubleshoot, and work independently in a production environment.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with CMM/CT systems and software such as Hexagon PC-DMIS or Zeiss inspection software.
• Experience with Keyence or VS Creator vision systems.
• Experience with APC/LPC, VOC monitors such as PID/FID, DRB/MRB, process audits, or training others on inspection methods.
