Quality Inspector II - B Shift (Mechanical)

Location: On-site in Long Beach, California, United States. B shift: 3:15 PM–1:45 AM, Monday–Thursday. Candidates must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Base pay: $24–$30 USD per hour. Employees may also receive equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Perform complex mechanical inspections of purchased parts, 3D-printed components, CNC-machined items, electro-mechanical components, and propulsion assemblies.
• Conduct receiving, in-process, and final assembly inspections using hand measurement systems and CMM equipment.
• Document non-conformances in ERP, MES, and issue-tracking systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and management to improve work instructions and identify critical inspection points.
• Coordinate inspection priorities with Production to support delivery milestones.
• Detect and prevent defects from progressing through manufacturing and reaching downstream customers.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in quality assurance within a mechanical manufacturing environment.
• Experience with GD&T.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work the B shift on-site in Long Beach, California.
• Must satisfy applicable U.S. ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.
• Ability to read technical documents, drawings, and computer screens and operate inspection tools and equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with space manufacturing, engine builds, or aerospace components and assemblies.
• Experience with comparators, Romer arms, Keyence Vision Systems, or CMMs using PC-DMIS.
• Experience with borescope inspections and precision hand measurement instruments.
• Experience with ERP systems.
