Industrial Engineer (MES)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; on-site manufacturing operations at Mojave Air & Spaceport

Base salary: $101,000–$206,000 per year, depending on leveling and qualifications.

What you will do

• Optimize manufacturing processes and support MES adoption on the production floor.
• Assist with MES configuration, testing, deployment, and integration with existing manufacturing processes.
• Analyze production and MES data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Apply time studies, workflow analysis, value stream mapping, lean manufacturing, and kaizen methods.
• Document processes, work instructions, and MES user guides; provide user support and basic operator training.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, production, quality, IT, and project teams on corrective actions, automation, and digital transformation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 2–20 years of relevant experience, depending on level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of industrial engineering principles and manufacturing process optimization.
• Experience supporting MES implementation, configuration, or user support in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, process mapping, continuous improvement, manufacturing documentation, and work instructions.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using Excel or similar tools; experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and collaborate effectively.

Nice to have

• Experience with specific MES platforms, ERP/MES integration, and shop-floor automation.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or formal continuous improvement training.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing, including automotive, aerospace, or medical environments.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD or process simulation tools, especially CATIA V5 or SOLIDWORKS.
