Senior Industrial Engineer - CDH (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Analyze and optimize factory workflows, takt time, labor usage, WIP levels, routings, and labor standards for satellite production.
• Design factory layouts, workstations, and integration cells using CAD tools, while improving ergonomics and material flow.
• Build factory simulation and capacity models to evaluate throughput, constraints, labor, equipment, floor space, and production scaling.
• Lead Lean initiatives including Kaizen, 5S/6S, standard work, waste reduction, and cycle-time improvements.
• Coordinate with Design Engineering, Systems, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain during planning sessions, production reviews, builds, and pilot runs.
• Create work instructions and process documentation, support troubleshooting, and improve avionics, harnessing, and electromechanical assembly flows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience, including at least 1 year supporting electronics, avionics, electrical hardware, or spaceflight hardware production.
• Expertise in factory layout, simulation, capacity modeling, workflow optimization, Lean practices, PFMEA, error-proofing, and scalable production line development.
• Strong analytical skills using data tools such as Power BI and SQL, plus experience with factory simulation software such as Simio, FlexSim, or Siemens Plant Simulation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate engineering intent into accurate work instructions and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Must be a U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident, or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations, to comply with U.S. government space technology export regulations. A current or attainable U.S. national security clearance may also be required.

Nice to have

• Aerospace electronics experience, including PCB assembly, avionics modules, PCBAs, harnessing, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience with control plans, process flow diagrams, Key Characteristics, capability studies, validation plans, AS9145, SPC, DOE, MSA, and process capability measurement.
• Experience with structured RCCA tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and fault tree analysis.
• Experience with AEGIS FactoryLogix and Microsoft D365.
