Software Engineer in Test II (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX or Richardson, TX; on-site 2–3 days per week, typically for candidates within about 50 miles of the office

Salary: $98,900–$129,200 USD per year, plus bonus plans and benefits

What you will do

• Plan, create, and execute complex manual and automated integration tests across cybersecurity products.
• Write scripts in Linux shell and other programming languages to automate testing of Linux-based applications.
• Validate software systematically and maintain quality standards in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Document test results, analyze data, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve technical challenges and support debugging.
• Provide technical feedback for appraisals, regulatory approval, and project objectives.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a US-government-issued Secret Security Clearance
• University degree with 2–4 years of related experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with Linux or Unix-based operating systems.
• Understanding of TCP, UDP, HTTP, SFTP, IP, firewalls, RSA, and PKI.
• Experience with test automation using Linux shell scripting, Python, and Pytest or similar frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and ability to work in the office 2–3 days per week or as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lab Base Security Assessments.
• Experience using Zephyr Scale in JIRA.
• Experience with VMware, vSphere, or ESXi virtualized environments.
• Experience using GenAI tools such as Claude or Copilot for test design, automation, and analysis.
