Senior Infrastructure Test Engineer, DevOps (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote, US; hybrid schedule available for candidates in the El Dorado Hills, CA or Chicago, IL metro areas.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for AWS infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment workflows.
• Validate AWS networking, IAM, security groups, load balancers, and infrastructure changes across cloud environments.
• Develop integration, regression, smoke, performance, and failure-recovery tests for Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and related implementations.
• Build infrastructure validation into CI/CD pipelines and test Docker- and Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Validate hardening and security controls against CIS, STIG, FedRAMP, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other compliance requirements.
• Analyze logs, metrics, and telemetry; troubleshoot defects; and collaborate with DevOps, Platform Engineering, Security, and Compliance teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an SDET, Software Engineer in Test, Infrastructure Test Engineer, or in a similar automation-focused engineering role.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, NAT gateways, security groups, and IAM.
• Experience testing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar technologies.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, Go, or another language used for test automation and infrastructure validation.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms, Git-based workflows, Docker, Kubernetes, observability tools, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; effective use of AI-assisted tools is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with FedRAMP High, DoD, IL5, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or similarly regulated environments.
• Experience with Terratest, pytest, Kubernetes infrastructure testing, container security, resilience testing, vulnerability scanning, compliance drift detection, or SIEM integrations.
• Familiarity with secrets management, IAM, PAM, or zero-trust security architectures.
