Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United States; 4β5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, company events, and occasional travel are required.
Salary: $120,000β$145,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
Company
is developing electrified and digitally enabled pickup trucks and rugged SUVs, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.
What you will do
- Manage production quality operations for the General Assembly shop and ensure products meet customer and company quality standards.
- Develop and manage quality control systems, inspections, testing, audits, records, and corrective actions.
- Lead quality inspectors and technicians, including training, development, performance reviews, and team communication.
- Analyze quality data and prepare reports on KPIs, trends, defects, and improvement initiatives for senior management.
- Partner with production, logistics, engineering, planning, and maintenance teams to improve processes, reduce waste, and resolve quality issues.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring customer and manufacturing quality problems.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in automotive production quality control or a related field, including hands-on experience with General Assembly products and processes.
- Bachelorβs degree in automotive technology, engineering, manufacturing, quality management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience with VDA standards and strong knowledge of VDA and QMS standards are essential.
- Knowledge of automotive processes, materials, assembly tools, equipment, electrical systems, and mechanical assembly techniques.
- Experience with process auditing, quality management software, process improvement, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, planning, organizational, and customer-oriented skills.
Nice to have
- Experience launching a greenfield or brownfield manufacturing plant.
- Experience working in a general assembly shop or other manufacturing plant areas.
