Supplier Quality Engineer, Fasteners (Automotive)

Location: Garden Grove, California, United States; onsite role with domestic and international travel of up to 30–50%.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop and implement supplier quality standards, a supplier quality portal, and supporting quality processes.
• Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products against quality specifications.
• Conduct supplier assessments, audits, selection activities, and performance reviews.
• Lead supplier quality activities including APQP, PPAP, Gauge R&R, safe launch, and corrective actions.
• Investigate supplier-related defects, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Participate in design reviews, MRB meetings, and engineering change control while driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar technical field.
• 3–7 years of manufacturing quality or supplier quality engineering experience in automotive, aerospace, or an equivalent manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2018 or IATF 16949 and quality core tools including QMS, audits, APQP, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, and MSA.
• Experience with supplier quality management, auditing, performance evaluation, and quality management systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills.
• Understanding of mechanical components and assembly processes, including forgings, castings, sheet metal, and plastic injection molding.

Nice to have

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Manager, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
