Materials & Processes Technician | Materials & Processing (Aerospace)

Location: South Burlington, Vermont, United States

Salary: $35–$40 USD per hour

What you will do

• Manufacture and test panels for thermal runaway protection.
• Qualify new materials and test raw-material specimens for receiving inspection.
• Machine and test process-control coupons for composite parts.
• Perform destructive testing of composite parts, including cutting, cross-sectioning, machining, and specimen testing.
• Test existing processes and support R&D for new materials and manufacturing processes.
• Document and report fabrication and testing results.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on skills and practical fabrication experience.
• Familiarity with mechanical testing.
• Detail-oriented and well organized.
• Ability to work at the South Burlington, Vermont location.

Nice to have

• Experience building and testing composite parts using wet layup, autoclave curing, or oven curing.
• Experience with load frames, analytical laboratory equipment, and microscopes.
• Experience using manual or CNC machining equipment.
