Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

  • Own a scoped engineering project within a discipline team, covering design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, or process development.
  • Work on real hardware across space solar, lunar surface infrastructure, and manufacturing programs.
  • Contribute to design reviews, test campaigns, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Use engineering processes, tools, and technical methods under the mentorship of senior engineers.
  • Present project results internally and, for interns, at the end of the internship.
  • Take on increasingly complex engineering problems and challenge unclear technical assumptions.

Requirements

  • Interns must be rising juniors or seniors currently enrolled in a relevant Bachelor's or Master's program and returning to school after the internship. Associates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree and have 0–2 years of full-time experience.
  • Relevant disciplines include engineering, chemistry, materials science, physics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Collegiate project team or laboratory experience, such as robotics, rocketry, Formula SAE, CubeSat, or comparable projects.
  • CAD skills and the ability to create high-quality engineering drawings, or equivalent hands-on discipline-specific tool proficiency.
  • Demonstrated fabrication, laboratory, or build experience and strong command of engineering first principles.
  • U.S. Person status or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations is required to access export-controlled data.

Nice to have

  • Prior internship experience or leadership in a collegiate project team or research laboratory.
  • Experience with tools such as NX/Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Onshape, FEA/CFD, wet chemistry, materials characterization, or embedded C.
  • Cross-disciplinary experience spanning mechanical, electrical, software, or chemistry work.
  • Machining, sheet metal, 3D printing, laser cutting, PCB assembly, or comparable fabrication skills.
  • Coursework or research related to space, chemistry, materials, robotics, or manufacturing.
