Mechanical Engineer Intern (Aerospace)

Base pay: $29 per hour

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates advanced satellites for high orbits from its headquarters in Northern California.

What you will do

• Design, evaluate, procure, assemble, and test spacecraft structures, bracketry, and mechanisms.
• Work with composite and metallic parts manufactured using a variety of techniques.
• Perform mechanical and thermal analysis for spacecraft systems.
• Integrate mechanical parts and systems into spacecraft alongside the engineering team.
• Document and develop procedures to improve future spacecraft build processes.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or an equivalent technical field such as physics or applied mathematics.
• Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch.
• Passion for hands-on hardware development in a fast-paced environment.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.
• The internship is a twelve-week hourly role for students enrolled at a four-year university.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD.
• Experience with stress or thermal analysis software.
• Experience with electromechanical system design and specification.
• Experience with control system modeling and design.
