TL;DR
Network Engineer (LAN/WAN infrastructure): Designing, deploying, configuring, and optimizing secure LAN and WAN infrastructure across seven locations and a cloud data center with an accent on firewalls, routing, switching, wireless access, VPNs, and network monitoring. Focus on troubleshooting distributed connectivity, implementing security and capacity-management controls, supporting cloud networking, and maintaining highly available infrastructure with 24x7 on-call coverage.
Location: Onsite in Wilsonville, Oregon, USA; the role may require domestic or international travel to company offices and occasional night or weekend maintenance.

What you will do
- Configure and maintain LAN and WAN infrastructure across seven locations and a cloud data center.
- Design, deploy, upgrade, and optimize firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, VPNs, and WAN connections.
- Troubleshoot escalated connectivity issues, investigate incidents with vendors and IT colleagues, and resolve ticketed requests.
- Monitor network performance, security, capacity, and hardware logs; administer alerting and capacity-planning tools.
- Manage firewall policies, ACLs, port configurations, documentation, inventory, licensing, support contracts, and equipment lifecycle.
- Support cross-functional IT projects, install network and server equipment, and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with data, voice, video, wireless, routing, switching, firewall, and remote-site networking technologies.
- Experience designing and operating highly available, fault-tolerant enterprise networks and troubleshooting connectivity end to end.
- Knowledge of network security and access-control practices, including Network Access Control and Cisco ISE.
- Experience monitoring and managing cloud networking environments such as AWS or Azure, plus QoS, WAN optimization, load balancing, IPSec, and SD-WAN.
- Experience with Jira or ServiceNow, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to deliver projects in a fast-paced environment.
- BA/BS in computer science, MIS, or an equivalent IT field, or equivalent experience; ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Nice to have
- Palo Alto firewall experience with PCNSA, PCNSE, or PCCET certification.
- Cisco IOS, Nexus, or Meraki experience with CCNA or CCNP certification.
- Experience with Cradlepoint routers, Fortinet certifications, and network performance monitoring.
