Senior Member of Technical Staff: Hardware Integration, Sensing, and Control

What you will do

• Integrate new sensors, actuators, and compute hardware from driver development through system commissioning.
• Design, implement, and tune real-time torque, velocity, and position control loops for robot joints and actuators.
• Build low-latency data pipelines for GMSL cameras, LiDARs, IMUs, force/torque sensors, and other peripherals.
• Develop systems software for NVIDIA Jetson platforms and optimize hardware/software interactions.
• Implement and maintain EtherCAT communication for real-time servo and I/O integration.
• Develop hardware-in-the-loop testing, calibration, diagnostics, and field-debugging tools while collaborating with AI and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• Experience integrating sensors and actuators into robotic or complex electromechanical systems at the software level.
• Strong C/C++ skills and experience with drivers, HALs, or systems software on embedded Linux.
• Hands-on experience designing and tuning real-time control loops and understanding control theory fundamentals.
• Practical EtherCAT master/slave stack experience, including real-time motor control or I/O integration.
• Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms, CUDA integration, device trees, peripheral bring-up, and GMSL or similar camera interfaces.
• Fluency in Python and C++, with strong hardware/software debugging skills using Linux tools, serial consoles, and logic analyzers.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAN, CANopen, RS-485, SPI, I2C, or other real-time communication protocols.
• Experience with CUDA, NVENC, GPU-accelerated sensor processing, or perception sensor calibration.
• Familiarity with HIL/SIL testing and safety-critical standards such as IEC 61508 or ISO 13849.
