What you will do

  • Develop and maintain Linux drivers and interfaces for LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, encoders, motor controllers, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Own communication layers between onboard compute and hardware subsystems using CAN, EtherCAT, serial, I2C, and SPI.
  • Design hardware abstraction layers and integrate new components through requirements definition, selection, bring-up, calibration, and validation.
  • Manage system health, including power, thermal behavior, diagnostics, and fault handling.
  • Build AWS IoT Greengrass components for fleet device management, OTA updates, and cloud telemetry.
  • Support production robots by debugging hardware-software integration issues and collaborating with mechanical and electrical engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional hardware-software integration experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or industrial automation.
  • Strong C++ and Python skills on Linux platforms.
  • Hands-on experience writing device drivers and sensor interfaces for real robot hardware.
  • Experience with CAN, EtherCAT, RS-232/485, I2C, SPI, and ROS or ROS 2.
  • Familiarity with AWS IoT Core, Greengrass, or similar edge-cloud platforms.
  • Ability to read schematics and datasheets, use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers, and collaborate across software, electrical, and mechanical teams.
