Lead Hardware Design Engineer (Automotive Infotainment): Leading hardware design, board layout, validation, and production support for premium smart electric vehicle infotainment systems with an accent on automotive hardware quality, embedded platforms, and connectivity. Focus on developing DV/PV, EMI/EMC, environmental, thermal, and mechanical test plans, integrating processors and off-the-shelf components, and solving hardware bring-up challenges with embedded software teams.

What you will do

  • Lead hardware design and board layout from proof of concept through production and warranty analysis.
  • Deliver hardware design work on schedule and within budget while supporting product requirements.
  • Lead Failure Mode Avoidance and the full FMEA process for hardware quality.
  • Develop, execute, and improve DV/PV, EMI/EMC, environmental, thermal, and mechanical validation testing.
  • Collaborate with product, sensor, quality, project, embedded systems, software QA, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support hardware bring-up and testing with the in-vehicle infotainment software team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hardware design experience, including 3+ years in automotive hardware design.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with the full product lifecycle of automotive infotainment hardware.
  • Experience with Intel Atom/Xeon or ARM Cortex-M processors, hardware description languages such as VHDL or Verilog, and programmable logic devices such as CPLDs or FPGAs.
  • Experience with wireless communications, including Wi-Fi, cellular networks, and Bluetooth, plus CAN, LIN, UART, Ethernet, and USB protocols.
  • Experience with in-car computing architecture, graphical processor integration, off-the-shelf components, hardware/software integration, and automotive quality processes such as A-SPICE and FMEA.
