TL;DR
Lead Engineer - ME Integration (Automotive): Integrating vehicle software, ECU systems, manufacturing tooling, and production validation workflows for next-generation Software Defined Vehicle platforms with an accent on ECU flashing, diagnostics, automated testing, and vehicle communication networks. Focus on building release gates, validating CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet systems, and solving cross-domain integration issues during vehicle builds.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 4-5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, events, and business travel are required.

Base salary: $160,000-$192,500 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing electrified and digitally enabled pickup trucks and rugged SUVs, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.

What you will do

  • Lead integration of vehicle software and ECU systems into manufacturing and production environments.
  • Develop workflows for ECU flashing, calibration deployment, secure software installation, VIN-based configuration, and factory diagnostics.
  • Integrate body, gateway, infotainment, ADAS, connectivity, powertrain, electrification, and central compute systems.
  • Design automated testing for firmware validation, release readiness, configuration verification, regression, flashing, and rollback.
  • Validate network topology, gateway routing, signal databases, bandwidth, bus loading, and vehicle communication across CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Own system-level regression planning, root cause analysis, release gates, and integration support during DV/PV builds.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 12+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle E/E architecture, ECU software stacks, automotive communication protocols, UDS diagnostics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Expertise with Jira, GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, and ALM/PLM tools such as Siemens Polarion, IBM DOORS Next Gen, or PTC Windchill.
  • Experience developing and verifying plant and control models in MATLAB/Simulink for hardware-in-the-loop environments, including dSPACE ControlDesk and AutomationDesk.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, A2B, CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, LVDS, CANalyzer, and CANoe.
  • Strong system-level thinking, structured problem solving, technical arbitration, and milestone ownership in high-pressure launch environments.
