FAE - Field Applications Engineer (IVN) (Automotive)

What you will do

• Advise automotive clients and implement innovative electronics application solutions.
• Provide hardware, firmware, middleware, and development-tool support for assigned clients.
• Design and optimize systems to reduce development time and cost while improving end-product performance.
• Use the client engagement process to drive automotive design wins through to revenue.
• Identify key stakeholders, build consensus for Microchip solutions, and communicate client feedback and ROI to internal business units.
• Collaborate with global teams to develop and implement sales strategies across client divisions and regions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, such as electrical or computer engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience as an MCU-based automotive application design engineer.
• Strong electronic design skills, including hardware architecture, schematic and layout work, simulation, testing, and debugging with laboratory instruments.
• Experience implementing MCU algorithms in C and using ADC, DAC, timers, PWM, DMA, watchdogs, and other peripherals.
• Knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and LIN protocols, as well as automotive BCM, lighting, EV, and entertainment applications.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, presentation, stakeholder networking, ownership, and workflow-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive Ethernet, including 100Base-T1, 1000Base-T1, 10Base-T1S, and TSN.
• Knowledge of FlexRay, PCIe, ASA SerDes, and related protocol stacks.
