Staff NPI Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, United States; on-site

Salary: $150,000–$205,000 annual base salary, excluding additional benefits

What you will do

• Drive manufacturing strategy and NPI execution for the Comet spacecraft platform from development through production ramp.
• Provide DFM/DFA feedback across concept development, design reviews, and product release.
• Develop scalable process flows, assembly strategies, tooling concepts, production readiness plans, and factory layouts.
• Plan production facilities, line designs, GSE, equipment integration, commissioning, validation, and deployment.
• Identify automation and semi-automation opportunities and collaborate with automation engineering teams.
• Lead process improvements, root cause investigations, documentation, configuration management, and manufacturing readiness initiatives.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, NPI, production development, or factory engineering.
• Experience scaling complex hardware from prototype or development builds into production.
• Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA, manufacturing process development, tooling design, production system architecture, and process validation.
• Experience with factory development, equipment integration, production ramp, hardware bring-up, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience leading cross-functional work across design engineering, supply chain, quality, production, and test organizations.
