A&P Avionics Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; on-site aircraft maintenance with possible travel to offsite aircraft dispatch locations.

Salary: $38.50–$61.88 per hour for Level II.

What you will do

• Fabricate, install, test, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify aircraft airframes, systems, and components.
• Work with fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, avionics, engine, airframe, and structural systems.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, airworthiness directives, modifications, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct line maintenance, including preflight, post-flight, launch, and aircraft recovery operations.
• Record maintenance activities in the Aircraft Maintenance Discrepancy Log and follow work instructions, inspection plans, technical manuals, blueprints, and AC 43-13 standards.
• Partner with Engineering to resolve design and installation problems, reduce defects, improve build time, and provide subject-matter expertise.

Requirements

• A&P license required.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate and 5–10 years of aircraft maintenance, systems fabrication, and installation experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining aircraft systems, structures, and subsystems, including sheet metal, riveting, fasteners, metal treatment, and large component replacement.
• Experience with aircraft line maintenance and flight-line or flight-test operations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems, adapt to changing priorities, work at heights over 25 feet or in confined spaces, handle items up to 50 pounds, and work a flexible schedule.

• Inspection Authorization (IA).
