Staff Engineer (AI)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; on-site five days a week

Salary: €130,000–€170,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead technical direction for the Dublin engineering hub, setting architecture, reliability, performance, and quality standards.
• Hire, mentor, and develop a small engineering team while building a high-trust, high-feedback culture.
• Work directly with EMEA customers to translate complex problems into shippable product improvements and measure outcomes.
• Own data and retrieval pipelines processing thousands of conversations per day across Zendesk, Intercom, and Salesforce.
• Build LLM evaluation and generation flows covering prompting, retrieval, safety guardrails, evaluations, and observability.
• Develop real-time scoring, analytics, coaching loops, and fast resilient Next.js/React interfaces for complex AI interactions.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of engineering experience, ideally in a Series A–C startup shipping complex customer-facing products.
• Strong technical leadership, including mentoring engineers, leading technical decisions, or architecting significant product areas.
• Deep expertise in modern web technologies, product architecture, or AI integrations.
• Ability to work on-site in the Dublin office five days a week.
• Willingness to work closely with customers and collaborate across the Dublin and San Francisco offices.

• Experience with notable or technically challenging projects that can be explored during the hiring process.
• Previous startup experience.
