Focus on assigning work orders, coordinating engineers and testing teams, troubleshooting assembly issues, and maintaining safe, high-quality progress through major construction activities.
Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; on-site
Salary: $32–$52 per hour, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Coordinate daily assembly activities and assign technicians to work orders according to schedule priorities.
- Oversee handling, alignment, lifting, and mechanical integration of coils, vacuum vessels, instrumentation, support structures, tooling, diagnostic systems, and superconducting cable bundles.
- Review mechanical, welding, electrical, and lifting tasks and participate in major component lifts and movements.
- Conduct visual inspection buy-offs and provide daily status updates to the Assembly team.
- Coordinate with engineers, metrology, quality, testing, and external work teams to resolve issues and maintain progress.
- Lead kick-off and shift-change meetings, communicating work scopes, major operations, hazards, and safety requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in a highly technical assembly environment, such as aerospace, semiconductor, oil and gas, power plants, wind, racing, or automotive.
- 2–3 years of experience overseeing a team of at least five people and experience completing large-scale projects end to end.
- Experience assisting lifting operations and knowledge of bolted interfaces, flanges, welding, epoxies, and other joining and integration methods.
- Ability to work on-site in Devens, Massachusetts, including platforms around 25 feet high, confined areas, and industrial environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and willingness to work occasional nights, weekends, on-call shifts, or travel as required.
Nice to have
- 10+ years in a highly technical assembly role or 3+ years leading teams of ten or more.
- Forklift operation, basic machining, tooling design, rigging, and heavy-component lifting experience.
- Knowledge of vacuum, clean room, cryogenic, metrology, and precision-alignment practices.
- Experience with JIRA, Manufacturo, or other work-tracking software.
