What you will do
- Develop assembly plans and work instructions for handling, manipulating, guiding, and integrating complex SPARC sub-assemblies.
- Collaborate with system, assembly, tooling, and design engineers to define assembly methods, safety measures, specifications, and tooling.
- Integrate part traceability through CFS ERP and MES systems and incorporate instructions into assembly work orders.
- Plan part movement and placement while checking for interferences with other systems.
- Resolve non-conformances and assembly challenges using clear communication and data-driven problem solving.
- Support on-site Tokamak Assembly activities and improve standardization, efficiency, safety, and clarity of work instructions.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- At least 5 years of technical experience integrating complex, large mechanical structures and creating work instruction packets.
- Exceptional attention to detail, safety awareness, communication, and critical thinking.
- Ability to use data to support decisions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and work on-site around industrial hazards, including high voltage, high current, pressure systems, cryogenics, lead, fumes, noise, heat, cold, and strong magnets.
- Ability to type, stand, or sit for extended periods.
Nice to have
- Bachelorβs or associate degree in a related field.
- Experience with metrology, high-vacuum projects and processes, manufacturing management software, NX, or lifting components over 10 tons.
