Component Cleaning & Prep Lead

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; workplace: On-site

What you will do

• Lead 2–3 cleaning technicians, assign daily tasks, manage throughput, and adjust schedules to production demands.
• Train staff and management on chemical safety, contamination control, and correct hardware-handling techniques.
• Coordinate with material and inventory teams on batch control, material movements, and ERP tracking.
• Author SOPs for immersion baths, ultrasonic cleaning, parts washing, and manual wipe-down procedures.
• Help select, commission, and validate cleaning equipment and specialized filtration or ventilation systems.
• Establish cleaning standards, validation methods, workflow layouts, and safe procedures for solvents, chemicals, and hazardous waste.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience executing and managing industrial parts-cleaning operations in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or precision machining.
• Team leadership or supervisory experience on a manufacturing floor, including task assignment, throughput management, and accountability.
• Knowledge of solvent cleaning, aqueous degreasing, ultrasonic cleaning, acid or alkaline baths, and precision manual wiping.
• Experience with metal surfaces, contamination effects, cleaning work-cell setup, and manufacturing procedures implemented from scratch.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended periods standing, sitting, climbing, typing, and stopping; safety compliance is required around fumes, lead, high voltage, cryogenics, and other hazards.

Nice to have

• Technical certification in industrial chemistry, materials science, or manufacturing technology.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience training non-technical staff on chemical and physical cleaning constraints.
• Strong MS Office or G-Suite skills and experience with forklifts or pallet jacks.
