Structures Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design, fabricate, and validate tooling, fixtures, and ground support equipment for structural prototype builds, integration, and testing.
• Partner with structures, manufacturing, and test engineers to define integration flows, tooling interfaces, and build strategies.
• Support the build, integration, inspection, and structural testing of primary and secondary assemblies for the Quarterhorse vehicle and future platforms.
• Perform mechanical checks, fit-ups, hands-on trials, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for tooling and manufacturing issues.
• Develop prototype manufacturing processes and continuously improve tooling and build approaches to increase speed and quality.
• Coordinate internal and external fabrication resources to support R&D and test milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, first-principles reasoning, and hands-on experience with physical hardware.
• Ability to design, build, test, break, and rapidly iterate hardware and tooling.
• Proficiency with CAD and familiarity with GD&T fundamentals.
• Comfort using hand tools and test equipment while working directly on the shop floor.
• Must be a U.S. person under U.S. export control rules or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Experience in an R&D or startup development environment.
• Experience designing or building tooling for large structural assemblies.
• Experience supporting flight development or experimental aircraft programs.
• Familiarity with lean prototyping and rapid iteration in low-volume environments.
