Counsel, Commercial (Automotive)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; requires 4–5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings, events, and occasional travel.

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Provide legal and strategic advice on direct and indirect procurement matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and support commercial contracts for procurement, manufacturing, operations, logistics, sales, and related activities.
• Develop contract templates, procedures, processes, and training for Purchasing and Supply Chain teams.
• Build effective working relationships with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, and Commercial teams.
• Collaborate with Legal colleagues and outside counsel on special projects and evolving legal functions.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in good standing of a bar in at least one U.S. state.
• At least five years of legal experience, preferably combining law firm and in-house work.
• Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, preferably supplier and manufacturing agreements.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, collaboration, and cross-functional problem-solving skills.
• Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
