Senior Legal Counsel (AI)

Annual salary: $159,000–$230,000 USD, depending on experience, plus benefits and incentive plans.

What you will do

• Build and maintain a compliant legal system suitable for a public company.
• Lead public company compliance requirements, SEC filings, and government reporting.
• Review, draft, and negotiate supply chain, consulting, securities, technology, research, partnership, and confidentiality agreements.
• Advise management and cross-functional stakeholders on securities, governance, contracts, intellectual property, labor, product development, and strategic partnership matters.
• Develop and manage legal and ethical compliance policies, protocols, training, and risk audits.
• Investigate alleged legal and ethical violations while coordinating with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited institution and membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• At least 10 years of legal experience, with a mix of in-house corporate counsel and law firm experience preferred.
• Experience in high-tech consumer electronics, internet AI, or automotive industries; public company experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, equity and debt financing, and SEC Forms 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K, registration statements, proxy statements, and Section 16 filings.
• Experience with corporate governance, board materials, corporate records, commercial agreements, intellectual property rights, and strategic partnerships.
• Ability to provide practical legal support to Supply Chain, Engineering, Human Resources, and other cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Intellectual property and litigation experience.
• Experience handling employment-related inquiries, subpoenas, internal investigations, legal privilege, and corrective actions.
• Strong knowledge of employment and labor law, including employee relations, reasonable accommodations, performance management, and dispute resolution.
• Fluency in Mandarin.
