TL;DR
Customer Success Engineer (Automation Engineer) (Robotics/Lab Automation): Building, configuring, and testing automated laboratory workflows on the LINQ platform with an accent on robotics, laboratory instrumentation, and hardware/software integration. Focus on integrating liquid handlers and other lab devices, troubleshooting commissioning issues, validating workflow reliability, and translating customer needs into technical requirements.

Location: Hybrid, based in or regularly travelling to Frankfurt am Main, Germany; regular travel to customer sites in Germany and occasional travel across Europe is required.

Salary: €60,000–€82,000 gross annual.

hirify.global develops the LINQ platform, combining hardware and software to automate laboratory workflows for life-science applications including diagnostics, drug discovery, and synthetic biology.

What you will do

  • Build, configure, and test automated laboratory workflows using the LINQ platform.
  • Integrate liquid handlers, incubators, plate readers, centrifuges, and robotic devices.
  • Write and execute test scripts to verify workflow reliability, repeatability, and readiness for customer use.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and process issues during system commissioning.
  • Support customer training and explain safe, effective operation of automated workflows.
  • Translate customer needs into technical requirements and maintain workflow, test, risk, safety, and system documentation through installation, testing, and handover.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent practical experience in automation engineering, mechatronics, robotics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, biomedical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with Python, scripting, test automation, or technical troubleshooting.
  • Strong interest in robotics, automation, hardware/software integration, or laboratory technology.
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to be based in or regularly travel to Frankfurt am Main, with travel to customer sites in Germany and occasionally across Europe.
  • English language skills required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with laboratory automation equipment such as liquid handlers, plate readers, or incubators.
  • Familiarity with CAD, wiring diagrams, system layouts, or technical drawings.
  • Experience with Jira, Asana, GitHub, or similar tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of life-science workflows, laboratory environments, or regulated and validated systems.
  • Experience with robotics, PLCs, sensors, actuators, motion systems, or industrial automation.
