Installation Engineer (m/f/d) (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: Dresden, Germany. The role involves travel of up to 75% to customer sites across Europe. Candidates must have valid authorization to live and work in Germany and be able to travel freely within Europe. A 12-month training assignment in Taiwan is supported with visa arrangements.

Salary: €52,000–€71,500 per year, plus potential bonus and additional compensation.

What you will do

• Install, commission, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor equipment at customer manufacturing sites.
• Support equipment startup, acceptance, deployment, and operational readiness activities.
• Use digital diagnostic tools, equipment analytics, and structured troubleshooting to resolve technical issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas delivery systems.
• Communicate with customers, document service activities and technical findings, and support continuous improvement.
• Follow safety, quality, operational, and customer-site requirements in manufacturing and cleanroom environments.

Requirements

• Associate, bachelor's, or master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or mechatronics; military technical training, trade certification, or equivalent technical experience is also accepted.
• 1–4 years of experience in field service, maintenance, manufacturing support, installation engineering, or a related technical role.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and basic aptitude in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum systems, or thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and digital multimeters; basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet physical, safety, environmental, and health requirements, including cleanroom PPE use.
• Valid authorization to live and work in Germany, with documentation allowing international business travel and return to Germany after Taiwan training.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor equipment or cleanroom environments.
• Technical customer field service experience.
• Knowledge of vacuum systems, automation, robotics, process equipment, or precision manufacturing.
• Experience with structured technical troubleshooting.
