Senior Electrical Engineer (Power and Analog)

Location: Office-based in Boston or Goleta, United States; applicants must live within commuting distance and work in the office at least 3 days per week.

Salary: $143,000–$178,500 base pay per year, depending on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.

What you will do

• Provide technical guidance on power and analog designs within the Electrical System team.
• Research and prototype technologies for next-generation audio products.
• Design analog circuits for AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion, signal conditioning, and audio amplification.
• Design custom magnetics for power amplifiers and power supplies.
• Develop and execute engineering validation plans, simulations, and testing; document designs, results, and decisions.
• Ensure EMC, energy-efficiency, safety, and other regulatory requirements are met while collaborating with embedded, acoustics, mechanical, software, radio, and JDM teams.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of related industry experience, or a BS degree with 8+ years of direct experience.
• Hands-on ownership of analog and power electronics design for high-volume products.
• Thorough understanding of flyback, PFC, and LLC power-conversion topologies, including circuit and magnetics specification.
• Knowledge of safety and compliance standards for consumer electronics, with strong analytical, troubleshooting, simulation, and system-level skills.
• Proficiency creating and editing schematic and layout files and executing design validation test plans.
• Proficient English communication and authorization to work for any US employer without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience designing Class-D or other audio amplifiers.
• Experience with embedded circuits, lithium-ion battery management, wired or wireless charging, USB Type-C/USB-PD, or Power over Ethernet.
• Experience with audio and EMC test equipment, wireless communications, and acoustic products.
• Experience collaborating with JDM electrical, mechanical, layout, compliance, and program-management partners.
