Principal Power Electronics Engineer

Salary: $95,000–$245,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Design analog and power electronics for power conversion, battery management, wireless power transfer, motor control, precision instrumentation, and related applications.
• Develop system architectures, technical specifications, circuit designs, simulations, physical layouts, and verification tests.
• Analyze hardware configurations, test conformance to specifications, and support planning, deployment, and sustainment throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Independently resolve complex problems, clarify incomplete requirements, and adapt designs to changing customer needs.
• Identify program- and system-level technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead proposals and sponsor engagement while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and communicating with project leadership and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and printed circuit board layout.
• Experience with circuit simulation using SPICE or comparable tools.
• Experience with system modeling and analysis using MATLAB, Simulink, or comparable tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Experience developing advanced architectures and designs for complex electronics.
• Ability to document and teach engineering best practices to less experienced teammates.
