  • Define reliable, scalable, and maintainable system architectures and support controls and robotic system integration.
  • Design mechanical components and assemblies in SolidWorks using GD&T, fabrication drawings, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
  • Own multiple manufacturing development projects from concept through commissioning, coordinating milestones, risks, suppliers, and cross-functional resources.
  • Optimize production workflows by analyzing cycle time, material flow, automation ROI, and work-in-process buffering.
  • Manage technical documentation, safety assessments, vendor builds, installations, and factory and site acceptance testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience developing production lines.
  • Experience integrating industrial robotic systems and delivering manufacturing robotics or capital equipment projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Strong mechanical design experience with SolidWorks, GD&T, and drawing release for automated equipment.
  • Experience with Lean principles, Six Sigma tools, structured problem-solving, machine vision, sensors, and closed-loop feedback.
  • U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or qualifying refugee/asylee status is required.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on work across design, prototyping, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing, quality, facilities, systems engineering, EHS, procurement, and external suppliers.
  • Opportunity to influence manufacturing capability, throughput, and system reliability across fusion energy hardware platforms.
