Scientist, Analytical Sciences (Pharmaceutical R&D)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. The role requires U.S. person status and lawful authorization to work in the United States because of ITAR-controlled technology access.

Salary: $100,000–$140,000 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards.

What you will do

• Develop and validate analytical methods for characterizing drug substances and drug products.
• Conduct hands-on laboratory experiments and coordinate work with external testing sites.
• Collaborate with product development, pharmaceutical science, and engineering groups to advance drug development.
• Lead analytical sciences efforts supporting therapeutic improvement in microgravity.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or a similar field, such as Organic Chemistry, with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or an M.S. with 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with UV, NMR, FTIR, Raman, or particle-size analysis.
• Experience with chromatographic and affinity-based methods, including HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, SEC-MALS, GC, or SDS-PAGE.
• U.S. person status and authorization to work in the United States are required for access to export-controlled technology.

• Peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific conferences demonstrating method-development expertise.
• Experience serving as a responsible engineer or technical owner across the project lifecycle.
