Lead Product Manager - Hardware (Cryogenic Systems)

Base salary: $120,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Define and execute product strategy for cryogenic systems, aligning technical capabilities with market opportunities.
• Lead collaboration across R&D, engineering, and commercial teams to deliver hardware products on schedule.
• Translate research breakthroughs into commercially viable product roadmaps, specifications, performance targets, and design requirements.
• Analyze technical markets, customer needs, competitive positioning, and emerging technology trends.
• Engage customers, partners, and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, validate product concepts, and support customer education.
• Manage product performance, commercialization, lifecycle planning, and product management team development.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in product management or related technical hardware roles.
• 3+ years of hands-on R&D experience in cryogenic systems, quantum computing, or adjacent deep-tech fields.
• Deep understanding of cryogenic system design, performance characteristics, and application requirements.
• Experience bringing complex hardware products from concept to market in high-growth environments.
• Experience leading product development in fast-growth hardware startups with rapid iteration cycles and resource constraints.
• Strong technical communication and cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of combined R&D and product management experience in quantum computing, cryogenics, or scientific instrumentation.
• Experience with dilution refrigerators, pulse tube systems, or related cryogenic technologies.
• Publication record or patent portfolio in relevant technical areas.
• Ph.D. in physics, mechanical engineering, or a related field, or an MBA or equivalent business experience.
• Experience with government, academic, and commercial research customers.
