Senior Design Engineer (Robotics): Developing complex mechanical subsystems for the MiPA cognitive mobile robot platform from concept design through production release with an accent on mechanical architecture, CAD documentation, structural analysis, and manufacturability. Focus on designing electromechanical systems, coordinating cross-functional industrialization, and managing engineering changes, validation, and configuration control.

What you will do
- Lead mechanical design projects for the MiPA robotic platform and its subsystems.
- Develop robust mechanical architectures and production-ready designs.
- Create and maintain CAD models, technical drawings, product structures, and bills of materials.
- Perform structural, stability, durability, and tolerance analyses.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly throughout product development.
- Coordinate mechanical, electronics, software, manufacturing, and sourcing activities while supporting prototyping, validation, industrialization, and engineering change control.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a comparable field.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical product development.
- Experience developing complex electromechanical systems.
- Strong expertise in mechanical design, structural analysis, and engineering documentation.
- Understanding of machining, sheet metal, castings, injection molding, and assembly processes.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with DFM/DFA methodologies.
Nice to have
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM.
- Experience with mobile or service robotic systems.
- Knowledge of Creo/Windchill.
- Technical leadership or project ownership experience.
- Background in robotics, automation, medical devices, automotive, aerospace, or similar industries.
