Founding Technical Recruiter (AI)

Location: Palo Alto, United States; on-site

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity and performance bonus.

What you will do

• Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles from sourcing through offer close.
• Build outbound pipelines and relationships with exceptional engineering talent.
• Partner with founders and engineering leaders on hiring strategy.
• Research companies, technical organizations, and talent markets to create competitive talent maps and hiring intelligence.
• Deliver a strong candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
• Improve recruiting workflows using AI and automation where it creates leverage.

Requirements

• 3–10 years of experience recruiting technical talent.
• Experience sourcing and closing senior software engineers at startups or leading technology companies.
• Ability to evaluate technical backgrounds across infrastructure, distributed systems, AI/ML, recommendation systems, backend, and platform engineering.
• Strong outbound recruiting and relationship-building skills.
• Exceptional communication skills with candidates and hiring managers.
• Ownership, urgency, competitiveness, and comfort working in a high-expectation, early-stage environment.

Nice to have

• Experience recruiting for AI, ML, recommendation systems, or infrastructure engineering teams.
• Experience building market maps, competitive intelligence, and talent research from scratch.
• Strong understanding of modern AI tools for recruiting workflows.
• Experience hiring engineers from leading AI and consumer technology companies.
