Logistics and Customs Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, United States. Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Manufactures American rare-earth permanent magnets for defense, aerospace, automotive, and other critical industries, with a focus on national security and economic resiliency.

What you will do

• Manage inbound and outbound logistics, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and packaging for raw materials and finished goods.
• Execute the global trade compliance program covering ITAR, EAR, U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, country of origin, and valuation requirements.
• Coordinate customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
• Prepare and maintain import/export documentation, customs filings, and compliance records.
• Support tariff management, duty optimization, warehouse planning, audits, and logistics cost-efficiency initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Customer Operations, and Data Informatics to improve shipment visibility, KPIs, inventory flow, and operational performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or international trade compliance within a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of experience leading logistics operations, supervising teams, or managing transportation and customs activities.
• Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, import/export documentation, and country of origin requirements.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP, TMS, WMS, and GTM software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
• Must be a U.S. Person with access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

• Licensed Customs Broker certification.
