TL;DR
Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager (Manufacturing and Trade Compliance): Building and leading VulcanForms' end-to-end logistics and trade compliance function with an accent on freight strategy, customs brokerage, hazardous materials handling, and ITAR/EAR compliance. Focus on negotiating global freight contracts, implementing transportation management tools, modeling tariff exposure, and developing a high-performing compliance team.

Location: Devens, MA, United States

Annual base salary: $123,500–$169,800, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

  • Own the global logistics strategy across inbound and outbound freight, carriers, 3PLs, warehousing, and customer shipments.
  • Lead parcel, LTL, FTL, air freight, and ocean freight contract negotiations, capacity planning, and service-level management.
  • Own trade compliance, including HS/HTS classification, country-of-origin determinations, ITAR/EAR compliance, USTR filings, denied-party screening, duty drawback, and customs declarations.
  • Oversee hazardous materials logistics, including titanium powder handling, packaging compliance, carrier certifications, and regulatory incident prevention.
  • Implement a TMS or equivalent toolset, maintain logistics KPIs, manage tariff impact analysis, and resolve demurrage, detention, and carrier claims.
  • Build and lead the Logistics & Trade Compliance team, develop SOPs and training, and maintain audit readiness across Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive logistics and/or trade compliance experience.
  • Experience building or leading a logistics function with significant freight spend responsibility; $50M+ preferred.
  • Deep expertise in U.S. export regulations, including ITAR and EAR, customs compliance, and international trade requirements.
  • Experience with TMS implementations, carrier contract negotiations, 3PL performance programs, and hazardous materials regulations including DOT, IATA, and IMDG.
  • Strong leadership, financial modeling, tariff analysis, budget ownership, communication, and executive presentation skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, medical device, or advanced manufacturing environments operating under ITAR or DFARS.
  • Experience building logistics or trade compliance functions in high-growth environments.
  • Experience with titanium, reactive metals, ocean freight contracts, or international trade lanes.
  • U.S. Customs Broker, CUSECO, CPSM, APICS CSCP, or equivalent certification.
  • Familiarity with Epicor, SAP GTS, Amber Road, or similar ERP and trade compliance platforms.
