Logistics Manager (Defense)

Salary: $138,000–$193,000 USD per year base salary, plus potential equity.

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end domestic and international shipping across air, ocean, and ground transportation networks.
• Oversee packaging, labeling, documentation, and shipment execution for dangerous goods, including lithium batteries and defense-related electronics.
• Ensure compliance with IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR, ITAR, EAR, customs, DFARS, DPAS, and AS9100 requirements.
• Develop logistics SOPs, training programs, audit-ready documentation, and traceability systems.
• Manage freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and logistics service providers while monitoring costs, transit times, delivery performance, and carrier effectiveness.
• Optimize NetSuite, ERP, SCM, and shipping management systems and coordinate logistics priorities with Supply Chain, Production, Legal, Engineering, Business Development, and Program Management.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, including international and dangerous goods shipments.
• Strong knowledge of IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR, ITAR, EAR, customs regulations, and international trade compliance.
• Experience preparing export documentation, including commercial invoices, shipper’s declarations, AES filings, certificates of origin, and customs documentation.
• Experience developing logistics processes, SOPs, training programs, and compliance documentation.
• Experience working with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers, plus strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
