Senior Manufacturing Engineer I (Robotics)

Location: Onsite in Pasadena, California, United States. U.S. office candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain the required ITAR authorizations.

Base pay: $115,000–$144,000 USD annually for California.

What you will do

• Plan and execute the build, integration, and testing of robotic systems, electromechanical assemblies, tooling, fixtures, and production hardware.
• Develop manufacturing plans, build strategies, work instructions, travelers, test procedures, and visual aids for complex hardware.
• Design and implement production tooling, fixtures, handling equipment, and test setups that improve safety, quality, throughput, and repeatability.
• Provide manufacturability feedback on fabrication and assembly documentation and improve technician workflows and build methods.
• Own products released to production, remove production blockers, document non-conformances, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design engineering, production, quality, supply chain, management, and technicians while tracking schedules, risks, priorities, and production readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in industrial, mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, robotics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience building, testing, or supporting hardware in aerospace, robotics, automation, automotive, medical device, defense, or another high-reliability manufacturing environment; internships and school projects qualify.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 GD&T, inspection methods, 3D CAD modeling, assemblies, and integrated hardware; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, or test procedures for complex hardware.
• Ability to work across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, quality, production, and supply chain functions.

Nice to have

• Machine shop, machining, CAM software, CNC equipment, or post-processing experience.
• Experience with robotics, automation, electromechanical hardware, motion systems, sensors, actuators, controls hardware, or production equipment.
• Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly, root-cause analysis, non-conformance disposition, and continuous improvement.
• Experience in prototype, NPI, rapid-growth, ESD, or clean manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, JIRA, production-readiness metrics, and wire harnessing.
