Data Analytics Engineer (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid work

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, analytics data models, and trusted datasets.
• Write efficient SQL to transform, validate, and optimize data for analytics and reporting.
• Use AI tools to accelerate development and improve analytics workflows.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics for business stakeholders.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, Risk, and Operations to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Monitor data quality, investigate discrepancies, and improve analytics infrastructure.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and data warehouses.
• Experience with Python or another scripting language.
• Familiarity with dbt or willingness to learn modern analytics engineering tools.
• Experience building dashboards with Looker, Tableau, Sigma, Mode, or similar BI tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of data modeling and analytics engineering best practices.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Git, Airflow, Dagster, or similar tools.
• Experience with financial services, lending, payments, or product analytics data.
