Senior Analytics Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in New York City or San Francisco, United States

Annual base salary: $170,000–$190,000

What you will do

• Own and evolve dbt projects in Snowflake, including code reviews, SQL standards, materializations, incremental models, and layered architecture.
• Manage production dbt jobs, orchestration, freshness SLAs, runtime monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Define canonical business metrics and ensure consistent use across analysts, dashboards, and downstream models.
• Build and maintain data table documentation, dbt documentation, incident runbooks, onboarding guides, and contribution standards.
• Manage data quality monitors and contracts, investigate alerts, and debug anomalies from ingestion through dashboards.
• Lead model deprecation, compliance and vendor-management work, and mentoring across the data team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related role.
• Strong SQL and data modeling fundamentals, including mart-layer architecture.
• Production experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
• Experience owning orchestration tooling such as Airflow, dbt Cloud, or an equivalent.
• Experience creating durable technical documentation and communicating with technical and business audiences.
• Ownership mindset, curiosity, and willingness to integrate new tools.
