Advanced Physicist (Quantum Computing)

Location: On-site in Broomfield, Colorado, United States. Candidates must be U.S. Persons: U.S. citizens, permanent residents or green card holders, or workers granted asylum or refugee status. Due to national security requirements, nationals of China or Russia must also be U.S. citizens.

Salary: $132,000–$165,000 annually

What you will do

• Model trapped-ion quantum computers with theorists and experimentalists.
• Measure and characterize quantum computing performance.
• Propose methods to improve system performance.
• Communicate research results through publications and presentations.
• Develop, implement and oversee scientific best practices across the theory team.

Requirements

• PhD completed before the start date in physics, mathematics, computer science or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in relevant research projects, including PhD experience.
• Background in theoretical physics, atomic physics or quantum benchmarking.
• Knowledge of trapped-ion systems and experience with quantum computing hardware.
• Experience collaborating with experimentalists and communicating published research results.
• U.S. Person status is required.
