Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States — onsite. Travel up to 10%, domestic or international.
Salary: $126,887–$181,949 USD annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do
- Develop and mature electrical and optical subsystems for silicon vacancy quantum memory nodes.
- Collaborate with industry, government, academic, and internal partners to implement applications using the SiV quantum memory platform.
- Evaluate and test hardware such as pair sources and sensors for compatibility with SiV memory nodes.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to develop memory system subcomponents and software.
- Support the commercialization of quantum memory applications across quantum computing, networking, and sensing.
Requirements
- PhD in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience in quantum optics and quantum computing, ideally involving single photons or gate-based quantum systems.
- Experience designing and testing complex opto-mechanical and opto-electronic setups.
- Experience implementing applications and use cases with quantum hardware.
- Access to export-controlled technology requires U.S. Person status, an applicable license, or confirmation of a license exception; some government-contract work requires U.S. Person status.
Nice to have
- Experience with defect-center or solid-state qubits.
- Experience with optically mediated entanglement protocols between qubits.
- Experience writing software for laboratory environments, preferably in Python.
