Salary: $145,000–$240,000 per year, depending on experience

hirify.global develops quantum error correction technology and works with quantum hardware providers and government agencies to enable fault-tolerant quantum computing.

What you will do

  • Lead high-impact research in quantum error correction and help develop a scalable QEC stack.
  • Own multi-person research projects from direction through delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Shape QEC research priorities and translate theoretical research into product and company outcomes.
  • Line-manage, mentor, and support researchers while helping them take on increasing responsibility.
  • Contribute to proposals, funding opportunities, publications, talks, and conference presentations.
  • Write and review code for internal and open-source codebases.

Requirements

  • PhD in mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven ability to conduct high-quality theoretical research, such as through scientific publications.
  • Experience directing scientific or technical research and leading multi-person projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of quantum error correction and a collaborative approach to mentoring colleagues.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for explaining complex ideas to varied audiences.
  • Ability to obtain a US government clearance if required.

Nice to have

  • Published experience leading quantum error correction research.
  • Knowledge of qLDPC codes or one or more qubit modalities.
  • Experience leading researchers across multiple projects and balancing competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of Python and/or C++.
  • Experience winning contracts or grants.
