Laboratory Technician – Materials Testing

What you will do

• Operate and maintain analytical equipment including inert gas fusion, combustion analysis, ICP-OES, powder rheometry, and differential scanning calorimetry.
• Prepare metallographic specimens through mounting, grinding, and polishing for microstructural evaluation.
• Record, review, and report test results accurately and on time.
• Follow SOPs and contribute to the development of new test methods.
• Support quality assurance activities and laboratory accreditation compliance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory while handling chemicals and hazardous materials according to safety and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience as a technician in a materials testing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
• Ability to complete required training and consistently follow laboratory safety protocols.
• Ability to use required PPE, including lab coats, safety glasses, gloves, and procedure-specific protective equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience in laboratories accredited to ISO 17025, A2LA, or Nadcap standards.
• Hands-on experience with metallographic preparation, inert gas fusion, combustion analysis, ICP-OES, powder rheometry, or differential scanning calorimetry.
• Experience safely handling hazardous chemicals and materials.
